Selkirk & District General Hospital Redevelopment

North West District
Due to the current renovation project at E.M. Crowe Memorial Hospital in Eriksdale, there will be no Emergency Room or X-Ray services available from February 16th to February 22nd, 2010. Those patients requiring Emergency Room or X-Ray services will be re-directed or transferred to the nearest available hospital.

During phase two of the renovation project, upgrades to the medical gas and suction to the X-ray area will result in approximately a one week shutdown of this service. While this work is underway and for safety reasons, the existing lead lining in the walls will be removed and replaced to ensure that it continues to meet all provincial standards.

Selkirk & District General Hospital Redevelopment

Work continues with Manitoba Health and Healthy Living and our internal and external partners towards the architectural design of the hospital. As part of the process, Planning Directives have been developed to guide us along the way. The Planning Directives are as follows:

1. Create an environment that promotes the well-being of patients, family, staff and the community.
2. Provide a safe environment for patients, their families and community.
3. Design a high performing and Sustainable Site and Building.
4. Create efficiencies to optimize the flow of people, information and materials.
5. Work with the community to create a health centre that responds to the site, context, history, and culture of the region.
